Norway is located in the western area of the North Europe. The capital of Norway is Oslo, which is the scientific, cultural, economic and governmental center of Norway.
The most thrilling park in the city of Oslo is Vigeland Sculpture Park. This exceptional park is a park that shows the life work of Gustav Vigeland (1869 – 1943) who was a legendary sculptor. You’ll discover more than two hundred different sculptures that are in cast bronze, granite and iron. The main segments in this wonderful recreational area are the children’s playground, the bridge, the monolith plateau, the main gate, the fountain and the wheel of life. Vigeland Sculpture Park is open all through the year, so go there and be familiar with the monumental inventive construction.
Approximately the late 1290′s, the first work on the Akershus Fortress was built by King Hakon V. Akershus Fortress was celebrated during its time and successfully survived several different sieges, mainly by the Swedish troops. Akershus Fortress was remodeled and modernized in the 17th century; this is when it achieved the appearance as being a renaissance castle.
In Kon-Tiki Museum you will find original exhibits and boats from Thor Heyerdahl’s expedition in the world. Thor Heyerdahl was born in 1914 and passed on in 2002 and he was celebrated as being as one of the most famous scientist and traveler in olden times. You’ll find permanent exhibitions such as Kon-Tiki, Ra, Tigris and even Easter Island. There is as well an region in Kon-Tiki Museum that is for those short-term expositions.
Holmenkollen is a place in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo. In addition to being a neighborhood, the region has been a ski sport center since the late nineteenth century, with its popular ski jump sector hosting ski jump competitions since 1892.
Karl Johans Gate is the major road of Oslo and it was named after King Karl Johan. The street is linking the major railroad station that is in Oslo with the Royal Palace. On this avenue, you can see some of the finest attractions in Oslo, including the Norwegian parliament building that was built in 1866. You can also find this palace, which was built during the 19th century. This palace is the home of the Norwegian monarch.
