Tour De France Bike Race

The Tour de France is an annual bike race that covers over 2,200 miles (3600 km) of roads in France and surrounding countries. The 2010 race will start third July and run until 25 July. This is the 97th Race, and although the course has changed since the beginning and even after the last year, it always ends in Paris with a stroll along the Champs Elysees.

The Tour de France was originally collected as a way for the sale of a publishing news flash, auto created. In a desperate attempta six-day tour of France beat their competitors are bike race like no one before has it staged. I pulled off ', and the race is still, even though it is three times longer now.

Each race consists of a prologue and 20 stages. Each level takes place during the day (the extra two days built in rest days). Even if the person who reaches the finish line first is usually the winner of the competition is not based on reaching the front. Instead, the individual timesFor each phase are counted, and win the drivers with the best time. Each day, the pilot of the lowest total time wearing a yellow jersey. Oddly enough, you can win the Tour de France without a stage victory. Since the ranking is an aggregate called "overall", the judge can pass deductions for the first time at the intermediate points and finishing well (but not before) to enter into a stage. Gary LeMond won in this way in 1990.

There is a triple crown of cycling, butTour de France is by far the most famous and prestigious of the three. The other two races from which the Grand Tour is the Tour of Italy and the Vuelta a Espana.
