Boxing
Did you know, no doubt, Alexis Arguello was one of the most successful professional boxer in the world. Sure, he was the toast of the Latin American sports community. Between 1974 and 1983, Nicaragua's former boxer Alexis Arguello won six world championships (FeatherweightAnd very easy) and is an icon in Latin America. Arguello Sports Illustrated published an interview with in October 1985.
Pan American Games
Did you know in October 1975 in Panama National Olympic Committee sent a delegation consisting of athletes, 19 in Mexico City by 1951, the Pan American Games, the most important pre-Olympic event in the western hemisphere since at. The team competed in six sports Panama: water (1)Cycling (5) Fencing (1), shooting (6), weightlifting (2), and the struggle (4). Two weights, Justiniani Pablo Narciso and Oran and Wrest, Segundo Olmedo, were the most important national athletes in international games. Ironically, Guy Abraham, best athlete in the country, not compete in Mexico. The following year, finished Abraham, an Afro-Panamanian sprinter, fifth in the men's 100m with a time of 10, 25 seconds at the 1976 Montreal Games.
Host country
You Know-Managua, Nicaragua's capital hosted the Caribbean Boxing Tournament in 1984. Eight nations are participating in the international event: Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and the host country. Puerto Rico and Venezuela not to compete in Managua. The boxer from Nicaragua Gustavo Herrera won the gold medal in the 54 kg category at the 1984 Central American and Caribbean tournament.
Pan American Games
Did you know-The Nicaragua> Olympic Committee has participated in three Pan American Games: 1951 in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1959 in Chicago (USA) and Sao Paulo (Brazil) in 1963.
