Pendet Dance – The Purifying Ritual Dance in Bali
Bali is the land of beauty. Not solely does the nature but also the rich culture Bali has. Dances are one of the vital important facets in Balinese culture. Balinese traditional dances itself could be divided into two sorts, sacred dance known as Wali and leisure dance called Bebalihan. Ref: Villa Bayanaka
Wali (sacred dance) is often performed in some ritual ceremonies solely because it has robust magical powers and might only be performed by specific dancers. Bebalihan are often performed in social events. Along with entertain, Bebalihan additionally has different functions equivalent to: welcoming guests, celebration of harvests, or gathering crowds. Bebalihan has more variations than Wali.
Among many dances the Balinese do, Pendet is one famous ritual dance.
