My Family Vacation to Alaska

Alaska Vacation - Glacier Bay
When I was 13 I went on summer vacation with my family for two weeks around Alaska. We did a one week land tour and then departed on a one week cruise. My friend Adam informed me he is planning on traveling there this summer with his family, so I helped him out by listing the different cities I went to and things that we did at each one. Here’s the list that I sent him:

Fairbanks: El Dorato gold mine, paddle boat called Riverboat Discovery to an Indian reservation and dog sledding camp, can see the pipeline Midnight Sun Express Train: glass dome train so can see everything, goes to Denali, links Fairbanks, Anchorage and Denali, quickest and easiest way to get around Alaska Denali: kayaking, hiking, white water rafting, bring food into town (food has to be brought in, so kind of expensive) Talkeetna: small town, Northern Exposure shot here, stopping off place for people who are going to climb Mt McKinley, the highest peak in North America Anchorage: Southern Alaska, walk by the coast, neat city Boat to Glacier Bay: glacier break offs Skagway: take train to where gold is discovered/gold mining town, panning for gold Juneau: Helicopter ride onto glacier Ketchikan: totem poles, quaint town

If you’re looking for adventure, Alaska is definitely the place to visit. During the summer, temperatures range in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s and there are long hours of daylight. I definitely recommend the Helicopter tour to the glacier and the cruise into Glacier Bay. Alaska is so amazing and full of wildlife and gorgeous sites.
