Ryan O'Reilly,
grandson of the O'Reilly Auto Parts founder, is not your average 32-year-old.
Not only is he an heir to his grandfather's company, but this free spirit
travels the country with a back pack and a motorcycle, pilots his own aircraft
and has written two novels. He is not exactly living the life that was expected
of him - one in which he would work for O'Reilly Auto Parts.

About Ryan O’Reilly, author
of To Nourish and Consume
Because of
expectations for him to graduate college and work for the family business,
O’Reilly Auto Parts, started by his grandfather, Ryan O’Reilly felt cornered.
And after four years of doing just that, he felt something was missing and
needed more from his life.
After selling
his house and everything he owned on a whim, he traveled around the U.S. with
only a backpack and a motorcycle. Hence, his semi-autobiographical travel novel,
Snapshot, was birthed. Snapshot is the story of a man in his late
20s who leaves his corporate life to travel the country after a series of
unfortunate events. During this time, he experiences the country and its people
in ways that have a deep effect on him, discovering that life is about more than
the generally accepted practice of going to school, finding a career, having a
family, retiring and dying – it’s important to find value in life everywhere and
as often as you can.
O’Reilly has
since enjoyed success in the music industry and is now the managing director of
415 Entertainment in Austin, Texas. He is also a free-lance contributor to
various newspapers and periodicals throughout the country. He studied English
Literature at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri and is a member of the
National Writers Association and the Writers League of Texas. O’Reilly divides
his time between his business in Austin and a small farm in Clever, Missouri.
He just got back from a honeymoon in Europe and France with his new bride. He
will talk about his trip and give listeners tips on visiting France. He will give us
input on where the best sights are in France, French Cuisine and the best
places to visit in the wilds of France.
To Nourish and Consume
...
is the story of three former friends, who reunite unexpectedly in the small
resort town they had known as children. For the main character, Brian Falk,
coming home brings him face-to-face with a past he spent most of his adult life
running from, especially his teenage involvement in a complicated love triangle
that crossed both class and gender lines.
Brian hoped to return not just to home, but also to the euphoric experiences of
youth; only to find that his youth is gone forever and can never be reclaimed.
His eventual self-discovery comes in the form of breaking certain ties to the
past, while at the same time recognizing the role his past has played in
sculpting his current life.
