Qiana
Martin is best known for her time playing soccer on a professional soccer*
team
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But she not only travels the world playing and
reporting on soccer, Qiana also spends time playing and reporting on
footvolley and futsal. As an international athlete she has a blog, writes and
is the radio host of an international radio program broadcasting out of Miami,
Florida. Her famous slogan is "Eat Soccer".
Qiana spends her time daydreaming about playing futbol in the 2016 Olympics
and in the 2014 World Cup. Is it possible? Well, I reminded of what Napolean
Hill said in his book Think & Grow Rich years ago: "What the mind of man
can conceive, it can achieve". I believe that Qiana can achieve both goals in
her lifetime.
Qiana’s goal? To become the global face of soccer and in a short amount of time
in the sport, she’s heading in the right direction. She blogs about everything
soccer, hosts a weekly radio show and competes internationally – most recently
playing for a club in Brazil.
Info about the host of the 2016 Olympic Games - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
On October 2, 2010 - BBC sports news correspondent James Pearce said:
"This is the most tense part of an extraordinary day. We've been debating all
day who could win this vote and we've been saying it was between Rio de Janeiro
and Chicago. Well that turned out to be well wide of the mark, so while you have
to say Rio are favourites ahead of Madrid when you bear in mind London are
hosting 2012 and Sochi are hosting the Winter Olympics in 2014 - can we really
see three Olympics in Europe in a row? - I'm reluctant to make any predictions
after the shock of earlier."
But Brazil did come out the winner of their bid to host the 2016 Olympics in
the host city of Rio de Janeiro. It will be first time in Olympic history that a
South American city will host the Summer Olympic Games. (Rio beat out Chicago
and earned 66 final-round votes to Madrid's 32.) Not only that, Rio de
Janeiro will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup Futbol/Soccer Games.
"From the bottom of my heart, I should say this is
the most emotional day in my life," said Brazilian President Luiz Inacio
Lula da Silva, alternating between sobs and exuberance. "Rio deserves it,
and Brazil deserves it."
