Q: We have a close family friend of ours that is an administrator at Columbia University. If I got a letter of recommendation from him, would that be enough to get into a SUNY school with a 1570 SAT score: Math: 500 Reading: 550 Writing: 520; and a 3.25 cumulative GPA?
A: You have a possible chance of admission to the regular SUNY campus at New Paltz. You would be in about the bottom 25th-30th percentile, but if you have taken enough honors and AP classes, admission is a definite possibility. The mentioned letter would count for little if anything. A letter from a teacher in whose classes you have always earned A grades would be much better.
Q: I want to buy a business in British Columbia, but the one I am looking at has a civil suit filed against it.
The case has not gone to court yet.Is the plaintiff considered a creditor at this point. How would I deal with this.
A: I would think the plaintiff is not a creditor unless they win the case and get a judgment against the business.
Q: My friend and I are debating between Columbia and Venezuela. We would like to relax on nice remote beaches, check out some of the colonial architecture and whatnot. And hopefully a few days in the Andes and Amazon basin. Which country would you recommend based on price / beaches/ease of getting around / nature / beauty / night-life.
Thanks in advance!
A: Definitely ColOmbia. Not to mock Venezuela because it is a good country, but id say Colombia is BY FAR a much better option.
According to what you are looking for I have the PERFECT I MEAN PERFECT vacation spot for you.
Cartagena, Colombia. It is a GORGEOUS caribbean city located in the northern coast of Colombia. You will find EVERYTHING you said you are looking for. It has beautiful beaches, high class hotel zone, good transportation, great night life and awesome restaurants. It also has a one of the best (and oldest) colonial districts in Latin America. It has a castle which was built when Colombia was a spanish colony and it was never defeated. It is called "Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas" or "Castle of San Felipe de Barajas" and from there you get a beautiful view of the entire city. Cartagena is full of culture. And Colombia has very good relationships with the US while Venezuela doesnt.
Anthony Burdain from the Travel Channel went there and said it had been one of the best places he had visited. You can go to youtube.com and type Cartagena, Colombia and there are lots of great videos, you can also google it.
NOTE: Cartagena is the in complete opposite of the Amazon, so you will have to take an airplane if you really want to visit the Amazon. You could try Leticia, Colombia.
There are lots of cities in the Andes, the the best ones are Bogota (the capital) and Medellin. Both are developed cities with lots of culture.
You could also go to the "Eje Cafetero" or the "Coffee center" (a very vague translation) Which is the part of Colombia where its so famous Colombian coffee is grown. There are parks where they show you how the coffee is grown and it is interactive, a great experience.
Here's a great website with travel info about Colombia: http://www.colombia.travel/en/ check it out.
I hope this helps and go to Colombia, there's a slogan that says "Colombia the only risk is wanting to stay"
If you want more info, contact me, I will be glad to help. BTW PLEASE MAIL TELL ME WHAT YOU DECIDED AND YOUR EXPERIENCE :)
enjoy!
Q: Just wondering what an estimated flight would be from Minneapolis, MN to British Columbia, Canada.
Probably the Vancouver airport?
Thanks is advance!!!!! :)
A: If it's a non-stop flight it would be about 4.5 hours.
Q: I would like your honest opinion please. Magenta (the maid that gets away) or Columbia (the groupie that gets shot). I like them both, but in my theatre i've been offered both parts, and I want to know which ones the publics favourite. Thankyouu x and why do you like them?
A: Magenta is the most favoured character and is considered a more main part. If I were you that would be the one to go for...but it really depends as to why you are taking part.
If your doing it more for fun then Columbia is a character you could mess around with a bit more.
Congratulations, is it professional work?? :)
I love them both ;)
x
