Q: I am going to a wedding in Budapest, Hungary and the marriage is between an american and a hungarian. I want to be respecful and dress the right way. I want to make that sure there aren't any rules like no black or bold colors. I know it's 2010, but I am trying to do this the right way.
A: Usually in Hungary people dress nicely for weddings, if the wedding takes place in the evening or late afternoon then wear a simple but elegant evening dress. if the wedding is in the morning or midday then wear something smart casual but nothing flashy. A dress covering the knee or slightly above it would work well. As far as I know there are no rules regarding wedding wear but I have never seen any one wearing black, nor white. If the wedding is in summer wear live colours if it is in winter then wear something warmer.
Hope it helps.
Q: My girlfriend is going on a 7 country tour of Europe with a school group, I was wondering how I would go about sending her a letter so that it will arrive at a hotel the same time she does, what it will cost, and how to time it correctly.
Thank you, and I will!
A: What a nice gesture... Please let us know what is the reaction of the recipient!
Mailing a letter to Hungary:
It all depends on the type of service you use and how much you are willing to pay.
If you send it in a regular/standard envelope with postage... It will cost you $0.98 but there is no guarantee when the letter will arrive. It might take anywhere from a few days to a month. (needless to say, I don't recommend this since you need it to arrive by a certain date)
I recommend you place your letter in a Priority Flat Rate envelope (available at no cost at your post office). It will cost you $13.45 to mail but it will arrive between 6 to 10 business days.
If you need it to arrive sooner, then place you letter in a Express Flat Rate envelope (also available at no cost). It will cost you $28.95 but it will arrive between 3 to 5 business days.
Make sure to address the envelope properly.
I recommend you look up the website of the hotel and copy the address exactly as they have it. Most importantly make sure that the last line of the address clearly says "Hungary".
Hope this was helpful!
Q: I want to be a vet and I am looking to get as much experience with animal handling (and with animals in general) as I can. I am going to visit my father in Budapest, Hungary, soon, so could you please give some information on a few places where I can volunteer with animals? I will be 16 when I come to visit him if that helps with anything.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Q: Which would be cheaper? And how long do you recommend to spend there?
A: I recommend you to go to Kiev to be more disoriented with the slavic orthodox culture. The churches are gorgeous !
Q: Please help me if you know how I might either watch it online or if you know what station it might be broadcast from! I AM that much of an MLB junkie.
Thx
A: Watch it on the internet homeslice.

In Hungary most people just get the civil service since it is the legal way they do things over there. It is optional to have a second marriage in a church at a later date.
My son was married in Hungary and his wife had two different dresses made, one for each service.
In either case, for a man I would suggest wearing a suit and tie and for a women a nice dress suit in a neutral color would work out. Don't have to wear black unless you are an older women.
A nice semi- formal dress would also work out, don't have to cover your knee in a civil service but be sure it's not a mini-skirt either. Hungarians overall are sort of traditional with traditional things such as weddings and funerals.
At the civil service, everyone even the bride and groom are sitting throughout the service, there are officals sitting across from everyone wearing sashes with the Hungarian colors on them at a long table. After the service the officals congradulat the new couple and give them a kiss on the cheek.
