What is the best time to travel through Boston in the morning?

Q: On Sunday I will be traveling I93 Southbound through Boston to Plymouth...My plan is to leave home around 5AM, which would put me in Boston around 8AM...what am I in for? Should I plan to be in Boston even earlier to avoid a lot of traffic? (getting into Boston later really isn't an option that day since I want to be in Plymouth no later than 9:30ish).

On Monday, I will be traveling back northbound...what hours should I avoid Boston this day?

Thanks so much for the help!

A: Sunday traffic should be light. No worries.

Monday rush hour is roughly 6:30-9:30 a.m., so that's the time to avoid if you can.

In addition to avoiding the Monday morning rush hour 6:30 - 9:30 AM avoid the evening rush hour by not traveling (time leaving Plymouth) 3-6:30 PM.

best time to travel into boston?

Q: im going into boston, planning on leaving from NJ in the afternoon. How bad is traffic going into the city during rush hour? is it something i should be concerned about?

also, how hectic is traffic out of Boston on sundays? Thanks

A: Rush hour is nasty in Boston. You should avoid it if possible.
Sundays are fine, and often quiet

Sunday traffic is no problem. Rush hour traffic is a typical hassle for a large city, unless you know the side roads less congested. But if you are leaving NJ in the afternoon you will get to Boston
well after rush hour is over, and driving in reverse of it.
  • jerry says:
if your a city driver no problem if not then it will be a little crazy to you
  • Holly says:
sunday no problem. traffic can be bad especially if there is a game going on

stop by western massachusetts - the berkshires are beautiful. you're close enough to southern vermont to check out the mountains and lakes. norman rockwell museum is definitely worth checking out. perhaps even go an hour further north to check out the vermont country store. there are beautiful b&b's throughout the area, as well as historic shaker farms - perfect for picnics, photo opps, and enjoying your time leisurely.

i'd skip ohio if you could :) cleveland does not rock.

air travel after transsphenoidal surgery?

Q: I had transsphenoidal surgery to remove a tumor on my pituitary gland on Apr. 20. I was released from the hospital on the 22nd and have been home since. The only lasting effect i have is some mild sinus pressure since and dryness in my nose since they went through the nose.

My question is I had planned (and already purchased airline tickets) to travel to Boston on May 5. The surgeons assistant said no flight travel because risk of infection, but my ENT surgeon said it would be fine, and I've read online that two weeks is enough time. Should I fly? I really want to go
