Q: I'm thinking about moving there after college in NC to kinda start a life of my own. I was wondering how is the living in Baltimore and is it a good place to start a career in Communications and a new life.
A: Don't listen to the other answers. Baltimore is a great city. Just like any major city there are pockets/ areas with crime - but for the most part - the northern part of the city is very safe and the people are very friendly. The neighborhoods have a very friendly feel to them - people watch out and take care of their neighbors - I love it.
Also, the cost of living in baltimore is not as high as in other nearby cities - so it is a wonderful place for a recent grad. Some of my friends moved there after college and they were able to buy houses for good prices.
Baltimore has a certain charm to it that no other city has. Check out this website to get some of the local flavor http://welcometobaltimorehon.com/ or for an overall description on wikipedia, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_Baltimore
Q: I put an envelope addressed for Baltimore Maryland in the mailbox at the post office today at around 1:30 p.m. How long will it take to arrive at the person's house in Baltimore Maryland? And it only needs one stamp, right?
A: Basically it is true. Unless the envelope was loaded. It could be there in a day, two days at the most. Good Luck!
Q: I will be moving to Baltimore, MD in a month. I will be working in Woodlawn, but would like to live close to the city. I don't want to live in the suburbs, but rather within a walking portion of the city.
Any suggestions.
Thanks
A: fed hill or canton
Q: Flying into Reagan on a Saturday morning. As soon as we get in we want to go to Baltimore. I was planning on taking the MARC but just learned that is only Mon-Fri. How can I get my 2 kids to our Harbor front hotel (and back to DC Sunday afternoon) without spending a fortune?
A: You have multiple options. First, from the airport you can take the super shuttle directly to your hotel in baltimore. Your next option is taking the metro. Take the yellow line from the airport to fort totten, get off, transfer to green line to greenbelt. It runs on the same line so just have to get off and wait in same spot. Sometimes on weekends yellow will go all the way to greenbelt but if not you will have to transfer. Once at greenbelt catch the b30 bus to bwi. Once you get to bwi catch the light rail to downtown baltimore. That's your cheapest option. Another option is to catch the metro to the NY ave station. Get on the yellow transfer at gallery place to the red line toward glenmont get off NY ave. Once there walk to the greyhound station and catch the bus to baltimore.
Q: She said she was pregnant and due in December, but she's not married and was named Baltimore's most Eligible Bachelorette by Forbes magazine. I did get hammered drunk at an O's game a few months ago, so maybe I'm the father. She hasn't called yet.
A: Probably Matt Wieters. He had to 'hit' something sooner or later.
