Q: m flyng with etihad just wanted to know if they wud help me by providing any special services when my baby wud cry or feel uncomfortable or scared during flyng... any special seats being provided by etihad for kids of this age...what weight limit he can carry? plzz gime all the info thats necessary-it wil b gr88 help...

It is an experience you have to go through
Still some airliners are much better in that regard than others. I trust "Emirates"

What kind of special service do you expect from a crew member in case your baby cries or feels uncomfortable? That's something you have to deal with yourself. Special seats and bassinets are available on "first come first serve basis".

well, i don't think you can expect any of the flight crew to provide you with any special service in caring for your baby except, however, giving a bassinet (if you come in first) or asking them to warm up your baby's food/milk. you'll have to take good care of the baby all by yourself. however, you may, for instance, ask them to look after your baby when you need to answer the call of nature. a 10mth old baby is too young to feel scared during flying. in fact, it may make the baby feel more drowsy and sleeping most of the time. a baby only cries when he/she feels hungry (so better feed him/her on time), diaper is wet (check regularly) and when feeling uncomfortable (just hug and let the baby's head rest on your shoulder and caressing him/her would do the trick). this is just based on my previous experience. i find travelling during flight more tiring than taking care of the baby. just relax and make yourself feel comfortable so your baby would feel the same...

U can reserve you bassinet (BSCT) for your baby.. this will bring you alot of comfort.. bassinet is equipped in all the aircraft model (Except Airbus 320), Call your travel agent or the airline office and ask them to book it for you. You can also book your Baby meal too (BBML) .. More than this an airline do not provide any other service.

However Emirates, have provided all its passenger with trolleys for it passenger upon arrival / departure from its terminal.

In case you are taking your baby's trolley.. from the outbound (departing) airport, you are allow to take your trolley upto the airport tunnel .. and then its taken from you there..

I am travelling from Delhi to Abu Dhabi (AUH), and then from Abu Dhabi (AUH), to Dublin.what should be the connecting time between two flights.

A: assuming you are travelling on the same airline for the complete journey, your baggage will be checked through to Dublin, and you just need to change gates, once in the terminal. So in this example I would say 90 minutes would be fine. If you have to collect baggage and check-in for your second flight, you should allow up to 180 minutes.

Are men with long hair bound to be subjected to a shakedown at Abu Dhabi airport?

Q: I am traveling to UAE soon. I am getting a little freaked out that I will become a target and they will find a speck of marijuana on the sole of my shoe or a poppy seed from a bagel on my shirt and throw me in jail for 4 years (both these thing have actually happened)
The incidents mentioned above were apparently at the Dubai Airport. Are they as harsh at the Abu Dhabi Airport?

A: i dont think having long hair is problem in Abu Dhabi
Most of locals here have long hair way down kneck
Just try to tie them or cover up in cap

1. long hair isn't a problem at all
2. when banned items are found or you are a suspect, you will also get detained in Abu Dhabi
3. Haven't seen neither Marihuana nor poppy seed bagles at Frankfurt Airport.
4. For international flights you have to show up 2 hrs in advance and in case you fly with Lufthansa, expect a long line.

Ps. When arriving in Abu Dhabi and you need a cab, do NOT take any that will be "offered" to you. The Airport has it's own cab company and the rate is AED 70 fixed. The others try to ripp you off.

Just be careful though cuz the cops here can be pretty tough as u urself mentioned. Long hair for men is banned in the city of Sharjah which is 3 hrs away from Abu Dhabi city. Abu Dhabi isn't as strict as Sharjah. However, people do judge other people based on appearances. So, maybe the "foreign" look could get the security people to be a lil harsh, ya never know. I'm punk and I get tha weird looks all tha time. Just be careful here, it's not America, u can't be too "free" ;-)

Q: italy-abu dhabi-philippines the check in baggage(economy class) written on my ticket is only 20kg but the travel agency where i bought the ticket said that i can bring 30kg.there is also a random paper attached on my ticket that says :Economy 30 kg.I'm confused,i already asked the agency if i can really bring 30 kg and they said yes.but still i want to be sure coz i saw in the etihad website that 20kg only is allowed for economy class.HELP PLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!need immediate answer my flight is nxt week

A: The website of Etihad gives the following information -
In Economy class you are allowed a free luggage allowance of 23kgs or, if you purchased the ticket before the 15th June, your entitlement is 20kgs.
You also have a hand luggage allowance of 7kgs.

However, their website also says that as a special gesture a "free additional allowance is given on various routes". The piece of paper attached to your ticket would seem to indicate that your route is one of those to which the additional allowance applies. To find this information click on to "ask" at the top of website page, and when the "lady" appears just type in "baggage allowance".

If you are still in doubt you could ring their office in Milan for confirmation, but I really do think you are going to be OK with the 30kgs.
