Best times to visit Branson Missouri and places to go

Activities in Branson Missouri vary based on season!

Here’s an account of one person’s Recent Branson Visit:

We just returned from a four day visit to Branson.  This was my first trip.  We were very impressed with the picturesque scenery the closer and closer we got to the city.  The trees were just beginning to blossom in white, pink and purple flowers.  The weather was in the 70s and we did not ever need a sweater or jacket, even at night.

The atmosphere of Branson is very family friendly.  It was so much more laid back and refreshingly wholesome, compared to the cheap glamor and glitz of Las Vegas.   The regular/big named shows begin April/May, but we really enjoyed I the Pierce Arrow Show, Clay Cooper Show and the Dixie Stampede @ Dolly Parton’s theatre. We also visited the Butterfly Palace where we walked through a live butterfly habitat exhibit  … butterflys were all around us. The one hour video on the life and habits of the monarch butterfly greatly inhanced our appreciation for our tour. The Butterfly Palace includes interesting exhibits of rain forrest critters,  a mirror maze and great gift shop. We also road the Ducks (WWII terrain vehicles) that take visitors through a tour of the Branson and then it splashes into the lake for more siteseeing.

Branson offers a very relaxed destination and lots of family activities for all ages.  Branson’s attractions are nicely spread out throughout a wide area.  Many are within walking distance along the strip for easy access & convenience, while others are situated through out the rolling terrain.

Early Springtime was a perfect time to visit Branson.  The temperatures were modest and without humidity.

We very much enjoyed the staff and accommodations of the Savanna House.  It was located up on the hills overlooking the Ozarks. (ten minutes from the main strip) The Savanna’s scenic outdoor seating area overlooked  the mountains and offered great sunset viewing.   We loved the free breaksfast and evening desserts.   We would go back there anytime.

Branson is very very refreshing vacation desitination for many reasons.  We would go back anytime.  How beautiful those rolling hills must be when in Fall colors!!

Fun & Entertainment at the Friendly Town of Branson MO

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Branson, Missouri including: The Butterfly Palace, Shows in Branson, McFarlains Family Restaurant in Branson and the Savannah House Branson Hotel.

Talking about Branson…. Pamela says Just back from my first trip to Branson, MO. They Loved it. She says:

“it’s a very friendly and welcoming town, and everyone was in a fantastic frame of mind. Though it was hit by that tornado, they are
quickly repairing the damage, and the shows are Open and entertainment is outstanding.

She says We stayed at the Savannah Inn Hotel and very pleased. Staff very helpful and attentive. What a welcome and the place is Quiet, beautiful, spectacular outdoor seating overlooking the Ozarks. We loved their Free and abundant breakfast each morning and the warm cobbler & ice cream each night.

We attended the Dixie Stampede show – WOW..everything from horse tricks, roping, live buffalo, steers, barrel racing, salute to America & those special soldiers and veterans who help keep America Free. What a wonderful dinner – 4 courses and delicious. The waiters are great. The room setup around a huge arena, one side is North and the other South. The MC gets the room shouting from one side to the other. Audience participation with adults and kids chosen to come into the arena for competitions…and the winners give North & South much to cheer about and WIN. SO MUCH FUN!

Loved the Pierce Arrow show – can those guys sing. And not bad on the eyes either! What a variety of songs, music and a real crowd pleasing show! High spirited and the theater intimate enough to make you feel you are up close and very welcomed!

Our last nite shows was Clay Cooper in his own Theater. Such a variety in his voice, styles and collective entertainers in his cast! He paid tribute to Glenn Campbell performing many of Glen’s hits, and to Conway Twitty…some of the ole standard Country hits. His dancers were excellent, and had their own segments. Clay’s wife, Tina is head choreographer of the Dancers and she and Clay did a beautiful dance/singing number.

She says: I wouldn’t Miss any of these shows…well done, very professional, and loads of fun and excitement. Branson offers many many shops for gifts, unique decor and outdoor lifestyles. Branson is a place we will return without a doubt. Easy, laid-back atmosphere, and much rides, attractions and restaurants for the entire family.

Our favorite restaurant is McFarlains. Such a variety of foods, flavors and wonderful atmosphere – WE LOVED IT. We even loved the Ride the Ducks amphibian rider that takes you thru and around Branson sightseeing and then SPLASH right into the river…Awesome and most educational!

How could I forget to mention the Butterfly Palace. What an educational adventure. Most informative video on the Monarch Butterflies and their lives, migration to Mexico. There is a wonderful exhibit of reptiles – turtles, scorpions, lizards, snakes, in very green habitat. Once you enter the enclosed butterfly room you won’t believe your eyes. Butterflies of all sizes, shapes and colors. they are everywhere and some even land on your shoulder. Be sure to have your camera ready – spectacular. This place has two mazes..we tried the Glass Mirror Maze WOW..it’s tricky but what a challenge. We made It!

We heard that a Wild Life Park is opening soon that you are able to drive thru. A theme park with all kinds of entertainment from rides, shows, shops, food, and thrills. Branson, MO is a real family place – clean in landscaping, clean shows, family promoting and patriotic! Who could ask for more!

She can’t say enough of Branson and it’s beauty, entertainers of all kinds, and the warmth of those who live and work there! Welcome is their middle name! Don’t miss Branson Missouri – we are going back! Well we loved our entire time at Branson.

Thanks for the great information Pamela. My listeners really appreciate it.

Branson is a GREAT place for families with kids

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Branson Missouri is a GREAT place for families with kids to vacation!

Interested in going on a vacation to Branson Missouri? Well Marty says: “My family travels to Branson a couple of times per year. Here are my thoughts and tips:

Tip #1 Branson is a GREAT place for families with kids to vacation.  It’s clean, friendly, fun and family-oriented.

Tip #2 We’ve yet to see a show there we haven’t enjoyed. However, some of our most favorite venues are Titanic Museum,
Dixie Stampede, New Shanghai Circus, Legend of Kung Fu and any of the MANY go-kart tracks.

Tip #3 The venues in Branson are very accommodating to those who are differently-abled. As the parent of a Deaf child, I
am been blown away at the accommodations the attractions have made to ensure my child has the best experience. This
was especially true of Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede.

Tip #4 Branson is great for families on a budget. There are enough activities that are free or nearly free to keep a family
busy for days. Recommendations include the fish hatchery, watching the “Water Fountain Spectacular’ on Branson Landing,
and of course fishing and hanging out on the lake.

Thanks for the tips Marty.
