While walking out of the bright white inn in North Conway, NH we heard a toot-toot, “Oh, I thought, the 9:00 scenic rail tour must be on way to Crawford Notch”. I zipped up my jacket and looked up at the candy colored trees set against the royal blue sky above. What a beautiful day. The only thing missing was horse-drawn carriages and buggies riding along the boulevard. Both sides of the 20th Century street are lined  with a series of boutiques, general stores and diners much like yesteryear.
