Michelangelo’s  Masterpiece – at the Vatican in the Sistine Chapel

LIKE  THIS POST … THEN CLICK ABOVE!  and SHARE IT… Thanks

(Here’s something that my friend Tom sent to me. Thanks Tom.)

Michelangelo’s Masterpiece (Follow the directions for fantastic views, especially the +, zoom in, icon. Click on the link below and enjoy!)

“Here is an amazing bit of technology that you would never see in person, and you would NEVER be alone in the room. It is ALWAYS VERY CROWDED and of course you can’t see Michelangelo’s artwork close up as you can here. This is especially spectacular if you have a large high-definition screen! Too detailed to appreciate on an I-Phone.

TO VIEW EVERY PART OF THE MICHELANGELO’S MASTERPIECE, JUST CLICK AND DRAG YOUR ARROW IN THE DIRECTION YOU WISH TO SEE. In the lower left, click on the plus (+) to move closer, on the minus (-) to move away. AMAZING!  MOVE THE ARROW AND YOU WILL SEE EVERY PART OF THE CHAPEL.  This virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel is incredible. Apparently done by Villanova at the request of the Vatican. Thought you would enjoy the quality and a bit of Rome on your computer. It’s amazing what you can do with technology.”

David Copperfield Disappearing Card Trick – watch the playing cards disappear!

David Copperfield – Disappearing Card Trick

I first saw David Copperfield at Caesar’s Palace in Lake Tahoe over 30 years ago. David had just begun his career as a magician and even came out to talk with us after his magic act and signed his photograph for free. He guessed people’s room keys, made things disappear and made an impression. Just a couple of years ago I saw Copperfield again in Las Vegas. If you get a chance to see him, go. You will not be disappointed. But here’s a chance to see David Copperfield’s magic up close and personal. I’ve gone through all of the photos below several times and each time my playing card disappears. You try it then share this link with your friends. You can get more information about seeing his magic act where his illusions will amaze you by going to the link below. Have fun … and share this with your friends.

David Copperfield is amazing…

Music on the Album: Jealous of the Angels

Quotes about Jenn Bostic

“Jenn delivers on both performance and songwriting. Well mixed  songs with enough of her own individual style to carry things off in a crowded  musical market place.”
BeeHive Candy 2011

About Jenn Bostic

“Love me,  hate me/Leave or take me/Just don’t make me change” “Change”

Jenn Bostic’s career as a singer and songwriter began when she  was 10 years old, in the back seat of her father’s car with her older brother on  the way to school. A horrific crash that killed her dad, a hobby musician who taught her folk songs like “Sunny Side of the Street,” and turned her on to Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt, changed the 25-year-old’s life forever.

“God must need another angel/Around the throne tonight,” she sings on “Jealous of the Angels,” a song on her second album, the follow-up to her promising debut, Keep Lookin for Love. “Your love lives on inside of me/And I will hold on tight.”

Born in Philadelphia, but raised in Waconia, Minnesota, a small town 30 miles west of
Minneapolis, Jenn grew up singing with her family around the piano. Her father,  a CEO of NordicTrack, played a variety of instruments, including accordion, while his daughter picked up a love of folk, blues, R&B, soul, show tunes and, eventually, country. Seeing her father die in front of her made her angry with God at first, but she later found an outlet for her sorrow in music and writing songs.

“The first time I was able to sit down at the piano and play, I shut my eyes and honestly felt a presence next to me,” she explains. “I poured my heart into those first few songs. The only way I could connect and be with my dad was when I played music. And I still feel that way.”

Jenn went on to perform wherever she could, taking voice, piano and acting lessons, singing in choirs and school musicals. She would sit in with a local roots band, Traveled Ground, that consisted of teachers from her middle and high school, and once included her father on accordion.

She went east to attend the famed Berklee School of Music, where she honed her performance skills while studying music education, a field still vitally important to her.

“One day, I’d love to open up a ‘School of Rock’ type institution,” she says. “Just really give back by working with people who are as passionate as I am about music.” She also discovered country music, singing for a cover band called DiggerDawg, which opened for a variety of performers, including Alan Jackson, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire and Gretchen Wilson, as well as traveling to Iraq and Kuwait on an Armed Forces Jet.

Guest singer-songwriter Jeff Johnson talks music | SHINE & Chicago

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

To hear my interview with my guest Greater Chicago native and singer/songwriter Jeff Johnson please go to http://InternetRadio.CruiseWithBruce.com/music/

Thanks for watching, I’m Bruce Oliver with the Cruise Radio Network and host of the Cruise with Bruce Internet Radio show.

Singer/songwriter Jeff Johnson was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago in the 70′s and first started playing the piano with his brother when he was 9 years old. Bacharach and David, the Beatles, The Beach Boys, Bee Gees, Elton John and others influenced their song writing and playing since then. In the late 80′s they formed the Chalk Farm band which enjoyed much success in the Chicago club scene, headlining at the legendary Cabaret Metro and Park West among other venues.

After Chalk Farm broke up, Jeff moved to Los Angeles and found success as a dance music artist in the mid 90′s with two club hits – his own song “Whenever You’re Lonely” and a dance cover of the Bee Gee’s “How Deep is Your Love” which appeared on over 30 compilation albums in Asia. Both singles were released on his own Interhit Records label founded along with his partner remixer/producer Chris Cox. While running Interhit he also wrote songs for Englebert Humperdink’s Dance album in 1998 and co-wrote the album cover hit “Try Me” for Japanese artist Mylin’s Beautiful album in 1999.

Between 1999 and 2008 Jeff ran label/distributor Megahit Records when he found the long lost songs that he and his brother wrote when they were younger. Over the next couple of years Jeff worked to remix the material for release and wrote 20 new songs. With the help of several musicians from R&B legend Bobby Caldwell’s touring band including Jean McClain (aka Pepper Mashay the lead singer, drummer Johnny Friday and guitarist Carlyle Barriteau, bassist Reggie McBride and recording studio owner Carmen Grillo they worked on his new album “Shine”. Jean McClain brought in Marcellina Hawthorne and both handled background vocals while Carmen brought in Alex Wurmbrand, Paul Henning, Alwyn Wright and Maxim Velichkin to lend their talents on strings. Renown horn players Greg Adams, Michael Paulo and Lee Thornburg as well as organist Joey Navarro added to the collaborative efforts.

Guest singer-songwriter Andrew Cole music | Why We Wonder & Toronto

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

To read about Andrew and hear my interview with my guest Greater Toronto Canadian singer/songwriter Andrew Cole please go to: http://InternetRadio.CruiseWithBruce.com/music/

Listen to internet radio with Cruise with Bruce on Blog Talk Radio

Thanks for watching, I’m Bruce Oliver with the Cruise Radio Network and host of the Cruise with Bruce Internet Radio show.

Andrew Cole is a Toronto born singer/songwriter that moved with his parents to Liverpool, Wales, Las Vegas, Toronto and Florida as a youth. A natural born singer, Cole grew up constantly singing other people’s songs, developing a vocal style characterized by a remarkable range of expression. Still, Andrew couldn’t see himself as a performer on stage. When he finally took to the stage and began the process of finding his voice in 2002 he entered and won Stars In Your Eyes, a nationwide UK musical competition; the next year was named the UK’s North West Artist of the Year; over three years of university at Salford in Manchester – the longest uninterrupted time he’d spent in one place – he played the pubs four nights a week, further developing his already substantial vocal chops.
Still his voice as a songwriter remained in lock up, expressed only through his reinterpretations of the songs he chose to cover. It wasn’t until he returned to Canada after his father’s death in late 2004 that he began working on his own material; writing his first song – Why We Wonder’s closing track, We Must Win – in the backyard of his new home in Oakville, Ontario.
When Canadian rock icon Tom Cochrane and his wife Kathleene Cochran, now Cole’s manager, heard rough demos of those first efforts they were convinced by what Cochrane describes as “a voice other singers would die for”, and set out to help the fledgling songwriter realize his potential.

WHY WE WONDER – Although there are shades of David Gray and The Beatles haunting the edges of his voice and arrangements, Cole’s songs and sound are entirely unique: From ‘My Lovely’, which begins as a campfire love song and mutates into a torrent of raging guitars that come on like a swift summer storm and pass just as quickly; to his brutally frank expressions of the dangers of time running out before love on lead single, ‘Out Of Time’; through to ‘Dead Roses’, a country tinged ballad inspired by a simple emotional reaction to a women’s perfume and featuring backing vocals by Kathleen Edwards.

Why We Wonder was released June 8, 2010 (Crier Records / Fontana North / Universal Music Canada). The video for lead single, Out Of Time, directed by Andrew MacNaughtan, is currently in heavy rotation on MuchMoreMusic.

Tony Pace, Las Vegas entertainer, on Cruise with Bruce Radio

Friday, December 10th, 2010

From New England to Las Vegas – Entertainer Tony Pace will be Bruce Oliver’s guest on a January airing of  ”Cruise with Bruce Radio”

Tony Pace not only gets standing ovations at the end of a performance but he also gets standing ovations the minute he walks out on stage at the beginning of his “Up on the Roof” show. This is especially true for his audiences on board cruise liners and when he does multiple performances for his corporate clients and fans. After one show it’s not hard to become a life long fan of Tony Pace. As host of the “Cruise with Bruce” radio program I can personally attest to this fact. That’s why it’s my pleasure to have Tony on my Cruise with Bruce radio program to talk about his time on stage in New England, in Greater Boston, on cruise liners and as a headliner at the Tropicana Show Room in Las Vegas as well as the Resorts and the Hilton in Atlantic City.

For over 40 years, Tony Pace lived in New England and traveled all over the United States to conventions, corporate events and smaller venues. Today, at age 50, Tony and his family reside in Las Vegas but New England will always be home. When I first met him years ago he told me that it was his life long dream to be on stage in Vegas. After 30 years in the entertainment business, Tony has attained his goal of being a headliner in Las Vegas. In December, he got back from performing as a “Princess Theater” Headliner on the Golden Princess Cruise Ship delivering 5 jam packed performances with standing ovations as the cruise liner sailed around the Hawaiian Islands. He’s no stranger to the cruise liner industry as he’s spent time on the Holland American Line and others in the last couple of years.

In the May 21st, 2009 issue of VegasNews.com, Tropicana Las Vegas President Ron Thacker spoke about Tony’s show, “The Voice”, at Tropicana’s Tiffany Theater. Thacker said “We are very excited to host such an energizing and eclectic performer, We’re offering our guests a jam-packed evening of fine entertainment all rolled into one outrageous Tony Pace performance.” Thacker is not alone; “Man with the Voice…who just happens to be funny” has acolades from other entertainers including: Craig Nier (Owner of Catch a Rising Star), Victoria Jackson, Cathy Ladman, Pat Cooper and many more. To paraphrase Vin Di Bona (Executive Producer of Americas Funniest Videos). “I’ve never seen anyone with the ability to work an audience like Tony Pace. He’s a master at audience involvement”.

During my program I will talk to him about his favorite sites and destinations in the famous entertainment center. Find out the hidden jewels that only a resident would know about the Greater Las Vegas Area. In our case “What goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas” will not be true. I will be talking to Tony about his favorite places to eat, sites to see and other hidden gems that the city has to offer. Listen as he talks about the Princess Cruise Lines, Holland American ships and other cruise ships he’s been on. Find out more about his favorite destinations that he’s traveled to and get some tips about packing for your tour or cruise.

He’s brought his rich background in the industry as a student of theater and musician to the stage. He’s not just a vocalist but does improvisation of notables including Willie Nelson and Louie Armstrong, my favorite. In Vegas, people call his “Up on the Roof” show a “MUSICOMEDYMPROVATICIPATION”. You’ll leave his performance still laughing until you cry and wondering when you go again. No wonder the cruise industry love him. I believe you’ll walk away from your time listening to him on “Cruise with Bruce” feeling the same way.

Listen to my broadcast live or archived on the CruiseWithBruce.Com website. We will not be “up on the roof”, but online as we talk about Tony Pace’s rich background, his experiences while cruising and traveling around the country. You’ll get a better idea of where to go in Vegas and maybe you’ll begin to understand why you’ll want to put “seeing Tony” on your “Bucket List”. Thanks for your time and I look forward to seeing you as a listener of the “Cruise with Bruce” travel and cruise radio show. Your host, Bruce Oliver.  http://www.cruisewithbruce.com
