In a Fog
"In a Fog" is a scene from a hike that I took over 30 years ago on my quest to complete hiking the Long Trail in Vermont. I know that I could never complete the 260 trip today and am glad for the memories that this evokes.
The watercolor is a rendition of a photo that I took of part of our group. Tired and contemplative we all used our silent time thinking about the ups and downs of life. We had just completed a difficult hike up a mountain and stopped to rest under an old boken down fire tower. It was early morning and the fog had not lifted yet. We were literally and figuratively "in a fog".
The photo is good but the watercolor is better. I just presented a print of this watercolor to my old friend Hobie and his wife. His son, Ken, is watching me on the right.
