Hong Kong reverted to Chinese sovereignty on July 1,1997, after 150 years as a British Protectorate.

Our morning tour of Hong Kong introduced us to the district of Wan Chai. Our morning tour of this vibrant city took us to Victoria Peak, from which we can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and its famous harbor. Next we saw where Hong Kong plays and prays as we visited the beach of shrine-dotted Repulse Bay. Later visited the floating village of Aberdeen, which may soon become only a memory as the houseboats are moved to other harbors.

Jade Buddha Temple is a 19th-century temple houses two priceless jade statues of Buddha, one on the seated position of enlightenment and the other reclining.

Many move and each tells a story well known to Chinese.br / br / Upon visiting last night I found the Yu Yuan area was restricted to paying visitors (usually free) to try and control the crowds. The tickets can be purchased outside for 50rmb which is expensive for China but worth the price. Even in the rain with the entrance fee the crowds were larger than anything I have experienced to date there./p
